The young canoeist Silvia Thomas has been received on the morning of Friday August 22 at the City of Las Torres de Cotillas by the local mayor, Domingo Coronado, and Councillor for Athletics and exercise, Ginés Pérez, during the participation in the next European Torrena their sport.
A championship to be held from July 28 to August 1 in Rome and in which Thomas will defend the Spanish shirt in the discipline of dragonboat female premier category.
Torrena, who plays for "Dragonboat Pinatar", has a long history of success, as evidenced by the successes with his team last year in the European Championship.
There was silver in 2,000 meters, 500 meters and bronze in 200 meters fourth in the women's category, while in the mixed mode got gold in 500 meters, 2,000 meters and silver bronze at 200 meters.
Moreover, in the open category it took three golds in 2000, 500 and 200 meters.
"We wish him all the luck in the world in a championship in which insurance will enjoy and learn a lot, and who will walk the name of Las Torres de Cotillas with pride," said Coronado.
