The Department of Physical Activity and Sports Cotillas Towers has acquired a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for cardioprotection of all users and athletes.
With this device, which is installed in the Municipal Sports Centre, there are now four defibrillators with counting Torreño: one located in the sports center "Sport Group Las Torres" and two others held by the local body Civil Protection, which move all events organized in the municipality.
In addition to this acquisition the Department has initiated some training for own staff council, which then extended free of charge to all those monitors local sports clubs and associations.
The first of these courses on CPR and prevention of sudden death defibrillator was held Thursday August 4 and was taught by the Civil Protection services of the municipality.
"With the introduction of defibrillators and training courses try to prevent and avoid sudden death among our athletes, a reality that unfortunately happens," said Councilman area, Ginés Pérez Iniesta.
"In addition we will join a new regional campaign called 'Project Field Captain' for the implementation of more defibrillators," says the mayor.
