It has already begun in Las Torres de Cotillas the program "Active Families", which aims to fight childhood obesity and physical inactivity.
To do pediatricians and family physicians Health Center prescribe exercise sessions to children 6 to 12 years who present overweight or with a sedentary life.
This is a program of the Ministry of Health and the Association of Pediatric Outpatient and Primary Care Region (APERMAP), which is coordinated in the municipality by the Department of Health and Physical Activity and Sports.
"The sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays are held from 17 to 18 hours in the pavilion 'Mireia Belmonte' for eight months and run graduates in Sports Science Monitor," explains Councilman Athletics and exercise, Ginés Pérez, who visited this activity last week and it noted that this experience "is only done in four municipalities in the region".
The "Active Program"
This proposal stems from the "Active Program" aimed at adults, which has carried out in the municipality four years and which have already benefited more than 400 users.
"In September a year back this program, whose objective is to promote physical activity and prevent both obesity and other risk factors for cardiovascular disease," says the mayor.
A program that initially targeted specifically at elderly patients with a risk factor, but whose target population has begun to expand.
