The first president of the huertana rock "L'Almazara" of Las Torres de Cotillas and one of its founders, Joaquín Fernández, has passed leaving a significant gap in the cultural life of the municipality.
Fernández presided between 1982 and 1987 this peña torreña, pioneer in the municipality in the work of promotion and popularization of the regional traditions.
"Joaquín was a very active and beloved person in Las Torres de Cotillas", says the mayor, Domingo Coronado, who among his extensive collaboration with the cultural life of Torreñas also recalls his participation in Holy Week as the first demon that paraded in the processions Or in the parades of the Festivities.
"We want to convey to your family and friends the condolences of the Municipal Corporation and the people of Las Torres de Cotillas," says Coronado, who wanted to send a special message of affection to the widow, Antonia, the first Teacher of regional dances of "L'Almazara".
