Before closing its doors on the occasion of the holiday season the Institute of Secondary Education (IES) "Salvador Sandoval" Las Torres de Cotillas held a new edition of its "Solidarity Week".
A few days in which the educational community of the center turns every year to collect food, clothing and money, which goes to non-profit associations such as "Caritas", "Project Man" or "Smiles Solidarity."
"In addition to the products that the schoolchildren of different levels collect, we have a secondhand market, with articles such as jewelry, books, etc., which also serves to raise funds for these causes," explains the director of the center, Jesús López.
The cherry of this week is always the "Carrera Solidaria", which this year was celebrated on Wednesday December 21 and that as tradition is its collection went to the NGO "Save The Children".
A test that gathered nearly 500 euros thanks to the symbolic contributions per return made to the established circuit of each of more than 200 participants.
"These partnerships with which we collaborate will come to the institute on the return of vacations to offer talks to students about their work and how they work," says Lopez.
