- The Football Federation of the Region of Murcia (FFRM) and the City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas have signed a collaboration agreement for the delivery of four semiautomatic external defibrillator units (DESA) for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
"These teams will be located in the municipal facilities of our town where both football and indoor soccer will be practiced and will be used to prevent sudden death among our athletes," explains Mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, who participated in the morning of Today Wednesday, January 18, in the ceremony of delivery of these devices with his councilor of Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, and the president of the FFRM, José Miguel Monje.
These four new units will be located in the soccer field "Onofre Fernández Verdú", in soccer field 7 (next to the House of Culture), in the pavilion of the Municipal Sports Center and in the municipal pavilion "Mireia Belmonte", and Its incorporation brings to eight the total number of these apparatuses in the municipality.
"Two are installed in the Municipal Sports Center and in the sports center 'Sport Group Las Torres', and two others in possession of the local Civil Protection body, which transfer them to all acts organized in the locality," says Pérez.
"To train both the municipal staff and the sports monitors of associations and schools in the municipality we conduct periodic courses on prevention of sudden death using DEA, which are completed with training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and are taught by the Civil Protection services" , Says the mayor of Physical Activity and Sports.
These courses have a duration of 12 hours and upon completing their students receive a card issued by the Ministry of Health, which every two years must renew with another course of recycling.
