The health center of Las Torres de Cotillas, from the basic health area 67 of the health area VI-Vega Media del Segura, performed during 2016 a total of 159,608 attentions.
Of these, 95,559 were family and community medicine, 19,242 pediatrics and 44,807 nursing.
The manager of the Murciano Health Service (SMS), Francisco Agulló, provided these data on the occasion of his visit to the health center of the municipality, where he exchanged impressions with the professionals attached to it.
Agulló said that SMS is immersed in a new strategic approach to reinforce and promote primary care, through the Action Plan for the Impulse and Improvement of Primary Care in the Region of Murcia (PAIMAP 2017-2020).
This document has as a priority to meet the changing needs of citizens and improve the working conditions of professionals, to achieve a dimensioned and trained Primary Care network that responds effectively to the demands of professionals and expectations of patients, since Primary Care, he said, "is the fundamental pillar of any health system."
In this regard, he highlighted the work of primary care professionals "which is key to ensuring early diagnosis, coordinating and promoting healthy habits."
The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas has a health center, primary care emergency service (SUAP) and an office in the hamlet of Los Pulpites.
A total of 32 health and non-health professionals perform their work in this health area.
In addition, 20,567 individual health card users receive health care, of which 19,061 are residents of Las Torres de Cotillas and 1,506 in Los Pulpites.
Of these, 3,659 are under the age of 13.
In recent years, several actions have been taken in the health center and in the SUAP of Las Torres de Cotillas in order to adapt the infrastructures to the needs of professionals and patients.
Clinic
The health center of Las Torres de Cotillas consists of three plants, in which nine general practice visits are distributed, eight adult nursing, three pediatric consultation rooms, two pediatric nursing, physiotherapy and dentistry.
Its reference hospital is Morales Meseguer and offers the services of family medicine, pediatrics, nursing, collection of samples, physiotherapy, social worker and midwife.
