The Popular Party (PP) of Las Torres de Cotillas wants to denounce the threatening and undemocratic attitude of municipal opposition groups, which forced from the spokesmen's meeting prior to the full municipal yesterday, January 30, Mayor Domingo Coronado to violate the Law during the plenary session.
"The Regulation of Organization, Operation and Legal System of Local Entities (ROF) clearly stipulates how the plenary session should be held, led by the Mayor, and at a particular moment the socialist spokesman, Antonio Peñas, repeatedly skipped the rules when attempting to interrupt The session without the turn of speech and had to expel him for his attitude, "says the first mayor.
The opposition municipal groups had already raised their threat to Coronado before the plenary began.
"They intended that during the turn of motions these were read intact, even if the vote of the plenary did not admit them and, therefore, their reading did not proceed," explains the Mayor, who understands that the expulsion of Peñas was part of a strategy.
After obtaining it, the rest of the members of the opposition took advantage to complete their plan and left the plenary hall before a motion was voted.
Inability to negotiate
An attitude of entangling the plenary that was already planned, because within a few minutes the three municipal groups launched a joint press release prepared clearly before the plenary.
"We have three parties in front of us that act like one despite their different ideologies and whose only tactic is to mount scandal looking for false incumbents," criticizes the Mayor, "although they do not appear before the people as the coalition they are and that has been Erected as spokesman Mr. Peñas. "
"In the 13 years that I have been mayor no opposition group has met nor has submitted any proposal to be included in the agenda of the plenary session," says Coronado, who criticizes "the inability to negotiate with the opposition When his main request is that I go, although the people of Las Torres de Cotillas gave me the majority in the last elections. "
A plenary in which the modification of the contract of the municipal service was accepted, collecting urban waste and road cleaning to incorporate a new sweeper subsidized by European funds.
"This will serve to improve this provision in the municipality, but interestingly the socialist group voted against," says Coronado.
