The Community works on a direct bus line connecting Murcia to Las Torres de Cotillas (01/02/2017)

The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure works, along with the City of Las Torres de Cotillas, in a new bus line that directly connects the town Torreña with the city of Murcia, without having to pass through the municipality of Alcantarilla, in order to To improve the services offered to the local residents.

The secretary general of the council, Yolanda Muñoz, and the general director of Transport, Ports and Coasts, Salvador García-Ayllón, held a working meeting this morning with the Mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, to discuss issues related to Transportation and other matters of interest to the locality.

Yolanda Muñoz explained that the counseling "also aims to improve the frequencies, expeditions and routes of buses that take students to universities, and will study the implementation of services of direct connection with the Campus of Espinardo University of Murcia And the Catholic University Campus ".

The Secretary General also stressed that all these improvements will be included in the Transport Master Plan of the Region of Murcia, "which will update all bus lines in the Community to fit the current needs of users."

The master plan, promoted by the Ministry of Development, is in the process of bidding and its objective will be to analyze current supply and demand and reorder the public transport concessional map.

In Las Torres de Cotillas, the interurban transport line 41 is served, which starts at the bus station in Murcia to continue through Molina de Segura, Las Torres de Cotillas, Alcantarilla and back to the bus station.

This service is provided every day of the week, including weekends and holidays, and with frequencies between 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Monday through Saturday and between 9:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

This line has about 300,000 passengers a year.
