- The image of the Scratch of the Patronage Festivities 2017 of Las Torres de Cotillas will come out of a drawing competition.
Summoned by the Council of Celebrations, it is addressed to people older than 12 years resident in the municipality who should reflect in their works the main characteristics of this great cardboard doll that each year honors the past huertano of the town.
"Raspajo is a scarecrow that represents a human figure whose body parts are agricultural products from the Murcia garden, such as pumpkins, peppers, tomatoes, lemons, oranges ...", explains the mayor of Festejos, Amalia Perez, who presented this week this Competition in the hall of plenary of the local Consistory and that remembers that "its burning, next to a great piromusical castle, finalizes every year to the Fiestas".
The winning work - which must be original and unpublished - will not only be used by the artisans Torreños Pedro Fermín López and Rubén Fernández to build the great "ninot" that presides from the Plaza Maestro Don Ángel Palazón the Fiestas, but also illustrate both the Poster as the book of these festivities.
The deadline for presentation, which must be submitted in the registry of the Consistory Torreño, ends on March 24 at 2 pm and those interested in obtaining more information can go to the municipal website (www.lastorresdecotillas.es) or call the City Council (968.626 .511).
And the prize - a figure of miniature Raspajo elaborated by the craftsmen - will be delivered in the Municipal Auditorium "Juan Baño" on August 18 during the gala of presentation of the Patron Saint's Festivities.
