A group of 34 high school students from the Lycée Albert Camus in the French town of Firminy are visiting these days in Las Torres de Cotillas on the occasion of the eighth edition of the school exchange program that develops its center with the IES "Salvador Sandoval ".
The Gaul students, who are staying at their "brothers" Torreños' house and accompanied by four teachers, arrived last Thursday and since then they have made various tourist visits, such as Totana, Cartagena, Murcia or the Alicante town of Orihuela. "They have also known our town and have visited local companies such as 'Linasa', and before Easter they will receive the visit of our students," explains Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, who has given them an official reception in the Consistorio Torreño In which young people - French and Spanish - have been presented with works by the author Carmen Montero Medina.
This program, framed in the European project "Comenius", has allowed an intimate relationship between both municipalities, to the point that a twinning process is taking place between both localities.
