This is what Francisco Rodríguez and Andrea Barceló, 4th grade secondary students from the IES "La Florida" of Las Torres de Cotillas, thanks to two of the 500 scholarships awarded in Spain by the "Amancio Ortega" Foundation.
The students, who will live with a host family, will enjoy a stay at expenses paid during the ten months of stay.
"The scholarship covers 100% of the cost of the school year and will use it to study in the high school of Canada or the United States the equivalent of 1 ° of Bachillerato the next academic year 2017-18", explains the mayor Torreño, Sunday Coronado, who has received both at the City Hall today Friday February 24.
"Francisco will study the next year in the province of Upper Canada and Andrea will do it in an American city that still have to communicate", says the mayor.
A scholarship that both have achieved thanks to the combination of their good academic record and family income, and that will allow them to enjoy an experience to which both makes a great illusion.
"In our region, they have only awarded scholarships to nine students and it is a pride that two of them are from Las Torres de Cotillas," said Coronado, who has taken advantage of their meeting to congratulate them and wish them the best in their American adventure.
