Las Torres de Cotillas prepares for another year to commemorate the International Day for the Rights of Women and World Peace, which is held every year on March 8th.
And for this, the Department of Equality has prepared a wide program of activities, which was presented Monday, February 27 at the local council by the mayor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez, the president of the women's association 'Isabel González' Amalia Pérez, and the president of the 'Association of Senegalese Women of Las Torres de Cotillas' (AMSET), Sira Sengor.
The first appointment will be on Monday, March 6 (5pm) with a children's afternoon with free assistance, in which participants will enjoy a storytelling and a craft workshop under the motto 'Values ​​and Equality'.
It will be in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' and will be run by Miriam Oller, from the local company 'Cultural Actions'.
On Tuesday, March 7 (10 am), the Plenos municipal hall will host the talk 'Comprehensive gender perspective and intervention with men in the promotion of equality and prevention of gender violence', to be chaired by Santiago Fernández, president of AHIGE Murcia.
This activity has the collaboration of the Center for Assistance to Women Victims of Gender Violence in Las Torres de Cotillas (CAVI) and is addressed to the administration staff and political positions.
Many activities
A new talk, this time at the House of Culture, will open the activities on Wednesday, March 8.
With the theme 'Equality and Advertising' and start time at 9:30 am, it is addressed to the general public and will be given by Miriam Oller ('Cultural Actions').
Already in the afternoon will arrive the traditional baking tasting (16'30 hours) organized by the women's association 'Isabel González' of the municipality, in which its members will offer their most succulent homemade recipes in the cafeteria 'Rincón de Pepe' of the municipality .
On Thursday March 9 will be the 'Day of Sport' at the Pavilion 'Mireia Belmonte'.
It will start at 10 o'clock, run by Chari Oller ('Cultural Actions') with the collaboration of the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, and its participants will enjoy various and fun sports proposals.
In addition, in the afternoon the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna' will be the setting for an adult storyteller by Miriam Oller ('Cultural Actions'), 'Tales in the Light of a Candle' (20 hours).
Sport, day and coexistence
The sport will return to prominence on Friday 10 March with the second edition of the 'Women's Equality Football Championship' (18 hours), which will again be sponsored by the national deputy María Ascensión Carreño.
Organized by the Department of Equality and the local club '20 of Copas ', will be played in the municipal pavilion with the collaboration of the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, Civil Protection and Local Police and sponsorship of' Sports Marathon 'and' Verabril Communication'.
On Saturday 11 March AMSET will join this celebration by organizing the second edition of its conference, which will start at 10 o'clock in the Casa de la Cultura Torrena.
The reception to the participants, a talk 'Masculinities and the Commitment to Equality' by the president of AHIGE Murcia and a Gastronomic tasting, among the proposed activities.
And to close this program on Sunday, March 12, a trip of coexistence has been scheduled to Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz, in which the association of women 'Isabel González' collaborates.
The price of 12 euros includes the bus trip, the guided tour to both municipalities, a wine tasting in Cehegín and the food in Caravaca.
