The Brotherhood of the Holy Woman Veronica and Holy Christ of the Fall of Las Torres de Cotillas celebrates this year the 50th anniversary of its founding and is immersed in a wide program of activities to commemorate it.
If on Friday March 24 presented at the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' a book that gathers its 50 years of history this Friday March 31 was the object of a tribute organized by the 'Las Torres de Cotillas' Literary Association.
With the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Salceda like scene the act focused on a poetic recital in honor to the Holy Woman Verónica
For the weekend of the 7th, 8th and 9th of April a brotherhood trip has been planned for Malaga, while on Sunday the 9th will also be held the procession of Las Palmas (10'30 hours) with departure from the Hermitage of the Cross.
After Easter
After participating in the passional parades of Easter, between 23 and 25 May another trip has been scheduled, this time to Rome where the Torreños will participate in an audience with the Holy Father.
On Sunday, June 18, the Fraternity of Torrena will participate in the feast of Corpus Christi, installing an altar at its headquarters to rest its Divine Majesty.
On Saturday, July 8 (20:30 hours) will celebrate the feast of the Holy Woman Veronica with a Mass in the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Salceda, which will be sung by the huertana rock hymns and Virgen de la Salceda.
In August, two activities are planned during the celebration of the Festivities.
On the one hand, on 23 and 24 the headquarters of the Brotherhood will receive the image of the local patroness, the Virgin of the Salceda.
On the other hand, on Friday 25 (20 hours) the cofrades will participate in the transfer of the image from the Hermitage of La Cruz to the Parish Church of Our Lady of La Salceda, where the traditional offering of flowers and fruits will take place.
More acts
On Saturday, September 2, the pilgrimage of the patron saint will be celebrated from the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Salceda towards the Hermitage of Coto, while on Saturday, October 7 (20:30 hours) the 50th anniversary celebrations will be closed with A mass in the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Salceda.
After the Mass an extraordinary procession will be made with the titular images of the Brotherhood and at its conclusion an emotional encounter will be made between the Verónica and the Holy Christ of the Fall that will end with a castle of fireworks.
Acts already celebrated
In January the Torreña Brotherhood participated in the Cabalgata de Reyes Magos with a chariot representing the Annunciation, while on February 11 the local House of Culture hosted the screening of a documentary about its history.
Already on March 17, the Parish Church of Our Lady of La Salceda was the scene of a Mass for the deceased brothers of the Brotherhood, while the next day in the same place a Mass was celebrated in which the new image of the Santa Mujer Verónica for the children's procession, as well as all children born during the year.
At the end of the ceremony Lorena Lara, actress of the group 'Tejuba', put a voice to the proclamation written by the president of the Brotherhood and proceeded to the inauguration of an exhibition of images, robes, banners ...
