More than 1,300 young athletes from all schools of Las Torres de Cotillas participated in the 'XXXIII Cross School', which was held in the Park of the Emisora ​​on Wednesday 29 March.
Organized by the Department of Physical Activity and Sports with the collaboration of the General Sports Directorate of the regional government and the Federation of Athletics of the Region of Murcia (FAMU), participants covered according to the categories one of the three authorized circuits , 1,000 and 2,000 meters).
The IES 'Salvador Sandoval' and the IES 'La Florida' were the most awarded centers with three golds each in this test that returned to beat the record of enrolled.
"The participants in this party of our sport were distributed in categories according to their age, from young to young in both male and female," explains the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, who presided over the ceremony of trophy delivery.
"The top three finishers in each category received their medal and each school was recognized with a trophy for their participation," said the mayor, who wanted to thank the involvement of both teachers and students in this race that every year welcome with great enthusiasm in The Torreño centers.
The professors, also on the run
This year the test had two new features.
On the one hand, the students of the higher education cycle of Higher Technician in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities (TAFAD) of the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' of Las Torres de Cotillas collaborated both in the control of the test and in the performance of activities Of animation and dynamics for the students (games, master class of zumba, dances, gymkana ...).
And on the other, the 'Masters Race' was played as a novelty, where the teachers donned their sportswear and their sneakers were worn to run like their students in this festive sport day.
In addition, the regional channel '7 Television Region of Murcia' moved to the municipality to give full coverage to all Murcia of this athletic test in their magazine 'Murcia Conecta'.
