The CEIP 'The Park' of Las Torres de Cotillas has celebrated today Friday 7 April a new edition of its day of promotion and diffusion of the folklore and customs of the traditional orchard of the Region of Murcia.
The students have participated in several workshops, taught by the association 'My traditions huertanas' in collaboration with the Federation of Peñas Huertanas in the Region of Murcia.
In them the small students have been able to plant in the orchard of the center crops of our Region such as lettuce, enjoy traditional games of the orchard like caliche, bowls or petanque, or know dishes of the gastronomy of Murcia with the nice game Of the hanged man.
"In addition they have been able to discover with an explanatory video more about the silkworm, so typical of our area, and about the traditional dress of the orchards, since they have been explained the elements of the typical costumes for both masculine and feminine", they explain From the center.
A day that seeks to bring the little ones to the roots of the orchard of the Region of Murcia, which is already beginning to be a tradition at this time in the Torreño school and has had the collaboration of the local rock "L'Almazara" with A masterclass, an exhibition of jacks and traditional live music.
The morning ended with a tribute to Jesus Ferrer, who was a teacher at the center, recently deceased and promoter of school gardens in the Region of Murcia.
