The canine unit of the Local Police of Las Torres de Cotillas has announced the data of its actions during the first half of 2017, which show a very positive balance.
"In the first six months, 40 complaints have been lodged in accordance with Organic Law 4/15 on the protection of public safety, while 62 acts of finding have been carried out," explains Police Councilor Gloria Fernández, which means " Some numbers of which we are very happy and sriven of encouragement to continue working in this good line. This police unit served during this period with the dog Osa, a female Retriever Labrador, touring in many occasions the parks and public spaces of the municipality, and performing performances in different locations with these results so outstanding.
"Now the pup Tibor, a Malinois Belgian shepherd male has been incorporated, which continues to evolve favorably and is already in training phase in real scenarios," notes the mayor.
Changing Habits
Likewise, from the local police Torena has been able to verify that the activity of this unit has motivated the change of location in the municipality of habitual consumers of narcotic substances.
"These have been displaced to a large extent from the public parks, where they used to consume, to areas of the outskirts of the municipality," confirms Fernandez.
In addition, from this body of security has been working in relation to dogs of potentially dangerous breed and the municipal pet ordinance, having in these first months of the year a work more information than sanction.
"It is also noteworthy the collaboration of the canine unit with the research group of the Civil Guard of our municipality on several occasions," said the councilwoman.
