The Cabildo Superior of Cofradías of the Towers of Cotillas will request to the Autonomous Government the declaration of the Holy Week of the locality like 'Festival of Regional Tourist Interest'.
The originality and antiquity of processional processions dating back to the early seventeenth century, its high and increasing participation, the large number of promotional actions around these celebrations and the splendor of events as a showcase of the culture of Murcia and Torrena are some of the reasons that have led this entity to raise this proposal.
Following the agreement reached last September 6 by its Board of Directors, the next step of the Cabildo -composed by eight Brotherhoods- is to prepare a report-proposal addressed to the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia.
This will have a maximum period of six months to resolve this request.
"If we are granted this distinction, we will have, among other advantages, the inclusion in promotional campaigns of the regional government and with the possibility of using that seal of quality in all our publicity and dissemination activities," says Cabildo president José Sánchez .
