The Las Torres de Cotillas sewage system is already receiving its periodic disinfection and insect treatment, which aims to reduce the incidence of these pests.
"The annual campaign consists of two treatments that are carried out before and after the summer, where they are made around 500 records throughout the municipality, including districts and urbanizations," explains Councilor for Health, Inmaculada Fernández, whose area carries out these tasks for the control of rodents and insects through the company 'Hidrogea', concessionaire of the potable water and sewerage service of the municipality.
The treatments consist of the placing of rodenticides in the sewage registers, as well as insecticide treatment aimed at the control of the cockroach (periplaneta americana) and sewage fly.
"During these works, special emphasis is placed on those areas where the presence of these pests is more evident," says Fernández.
