The torreña Patricia Rodriguez was proclaimed Spanish runner-up of dressage in the category of fry of the national championship recently disputed in the Center Equestrian Castile and Leon.
On the backs of his veteran pony 'Casper', the young Amazon - regional champion in the same discipline - hung a well deserved silver medal that confirms it as one of the best in the country at his age.
Rodríguez, who was interested in riding five years ago and also competed in jumping, was received at the local council on the afternoon of Monday, October 16, by the Mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado.
The event also included the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, the mother and grandfather of the Amazon, and his coach, Paco Ríos.
"We wanted to send Patricia the sincere congratulations and affection of all her neighbors," says Coronado, who emphasizes that "it is a pride and a pleasure to enjoy the rain of successes of the Torreños athletes."
Of tecnification
"Patricia has been training for four years in the Paco Ríos Equestrian Center and is included in the technical plans for both the Murciana Equestrian Federation and the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation," explains Perez, who recalls that "dressage is a classic of the Olympic disciplines that form the equation and that looks for the combination, the balance and the harmony between rider and horse, demonstrating them in some movements during the competition ".
The young Torrena, who trains about five days a week, has already set his next target with his inseparable 'Casper': revalidate the regional title of his category this November.
