A new course of Spanish classes for immigrants has already begun, which is organized every year by the Department of Social Services at the Center for Women.
Coordinated by the Social Services Center, these free classes are held every Monday from 20 hours to 21:30 hours and are addressed to immigrants living in the town with problems understanding the Spanish language.
"We seek to facilitate in a great extent the coexistence of the different nationalities that coexist in our municipality", says the councilor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez.
Other objectives of these courses are to provide means for the immigrant to be able to function correctly when seeking employment, relating to others, etc.
"We also want to make our culture known to people who come to our country, making them participants and favoring their integration," explains Sánchez.
"The Social Services Center has been carrying out this activity for more than 12 years and this year the volunteer teacher is our dear Joaquín Cantero, who has been in charge of this activity for 3 years and combines the theoretical teaching of the Spanish language with reading exercises, writing and, above all, conversation, "says the mayor, who specifies that those interested in registering should go to said center.
