The full City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas approved on Monday night, October 30, a tax reduction that will reduce municipal tax collection by 500,000 euros.
Measures such as the reduction of the circulation tax (the so-called 'stamp of the car') by 5% and garbage by 5% (plus another 5% in the case of direct debit), or the suspension of capital gains and the free services of telecare, home help and the urban bus are some of the most important measures that will allow us to continue favoring the Torreño taxpayer.
"These reductions are now possible thanks to the recent elimination of the debt of the City Council, which allows us to follow the line adopted in recent times to benefit the residents of the municipality," explains Torreño Mayor Domingo Coronado, who points out that This tax reduction was approved by an absolute majority in the municipal plenary.

Likewise, reductions of 5% were approved in various rates if they were domiciled and the bonus in the creation of employment or in the tax on increasing the value of the land.
"In addition, the terms of the special payment period can be extended to three installments in vehicles and four in the real estate tax (IBI) if the taxpayer wishes," says the councilor for Economy and Finance, Ángel González.
"In five years we have eliminated 11 million euros of debt and now we are a healthy municipality, with a privileged situation of great financial autonomy that allows us an indebtedness of 110%, that is, about 17 million euros to undertake any type of investment ", says Coronado.
And for the mayor of Torreño this positive situation has some main responsible.
"We have to thank our neighbors for their effort and support, because we have had bad times and it is time to reward that commitment", adds the mayor.

Another measure related to tax management will be the launching in January of a telephone assistance system that will allow a non-contact attendance schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
"To be able to assist taxpayers, their identification will be required, providing information known by both parties," González explains, adding that "procedures such as verifying or modifying basic data, requesting information about receipts and outstanding debts, can be performed. schedule of payments, charges on account, the status of management files, among others ".
