The municipal library 'Rosa Contreras' of Las Torres de Cotillas has been distinguished for the second year in a row in the 'María Moliner' awards for reading animation, granted by the Ministry of Culture.
It has been thanks to its project of animation to the reading 'Integrad @ s', that also affects programs of reinforcement and increase of the integration of minority groups susceptible of social exclusion.
"We want to congratulate the team at our library for the excellent work they do in all areas, which on this occasion has been recognized nationally for their dedication to the promotion of reading," explains the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Cabrera, which highlights that this project has been chosen among 604 submitted to this year's edition, of which the 300 best reading promotion programs have been selected.
Expand the collection
This contest is convened by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports - through the Ministry of Culture - and aims to reward those libraries of municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants.
They must carry out a unique project that includes actions to encourage reading, efficiency and library work, social integration in their community, as well as the use of new technologies.
"This distinction is endowed with a prize of more than 1,700 euros for the acquisition of books that will be part of the collection of the library, which we remember is located in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna'", says Cabrera.
