The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries will begin next year the construction of a rolling deposit in the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas, "an infrastructure that responds to the demand of local residents," according to Councilor Francisco Jódar, who today held a working meeting with the mayor of the municipality, Domingo Coronado.
The counselor explained that "this new deposit will store the runoff that during the rain episodes reaches the WWTP from both the unitary network of wastewater and the rainwater network".
Once in the deposit they will pass to the treatment plant for its later treatment.
The works of the deposit also include a section of collector for the connection of the tank with the existing network.
The deposit will have a total capacity of 9,583 cubic meters, divided into several successive filling chambers, both for rainwater and for wastewater, and will be equipped with cleaning and pumping systems for emptying the stored water.
The execution period of the actions will be 15 months and the total budget will be 4.2 million euros.
The meeting also reported that the improvement works in two collectors of the sanitation network of the district of Los Pulpites, which amount to 198,379 euros, will conclude next December.
Other actions to be carried out by the Ministry in matters of sanitation are the collectors of the Mayor and Bolivia streets, whose execution will begin at the end of 2017.
In terms of rainfall, the Ministry also plans to undertake works in Mula street and in the avenues Juan Carlos I and Reyes Católicos.
