The group 'Taules Teatre' (Pinoso), with its work 'El eunuco', won the prize for the best show of the 'VI National Contest of Amateur Theater Juan Baño' of Las Torres de Cotillas.
The Alicante amateur actors were made with the favor of the jury thanks to this a comedy of the Roman playwright Terencio, versioned freely to create a fun proposal with current dialogues, carefree, gamberra and very funny.
The award was presented at the closing ceremony of the event, held on Saturday November 11 at the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna' in the town, which has hosted the four competitions during the month of October.
The group of Pinoso was erected as the big winner of the night, since not only did he get this award (which brought him 1,000 euros and a trophy), but he also won two more prizes from the total of the six at stake: of better direction for Joan Miquel Reig (100 euros and trophy) and the best supporting actor for José Antonio Pérez (100 euros and trophy).
Other awards
The prize for the best actor went to José Moledo, protagonist of 'Juego Bizarro' of the company 'Cinétika' (200 euros and trophy);
the best actress went to Cristina Montes, for her character Nora in 'Casa de muñecas' of the 'Salobreña Municipal Theater Workshop' (200 euros and trophy);
and finally the best supporting actress Maria José Vives, for 'Siete critos en el mar' from the 'Compañía Teatral en Construcción' (100 euros and trophy).
In addition, during the evening, the amateur theatrical company 'Tejuba' from the municipality of Torreño represented its version of the play 'Don Juan Tenorio' out of competition.
"It is a classic of our repertoire and given the dates it was appropriate to represent it," says the director of the group, which points out that among his upcoming appointments will put on stage in April the work 'Bajar al moro' in El Palmar (Murcia) .
Four participants
This theatrical contest for amateur groups, organized by the Department of Culture and the group 'Tejuba', featured four works in competition: 'The eunuch' ('Taules Teatre', Pinoso), 'Juego bizarro' ('Cinétika', Mutxamel ), 'Casa de muñecas' ('Salobreña Municipal Theater Workshop', Salobreña) and 'Siete critos en el mar' ('Compañía Teatral En Construcción', Elche).
