The City of Las Torres de Cotillas approved on Monday night, November 13 at the extraordinary extraordinary municipal budgets 2018, amounting to 15,197,827.77 euros.
As a major novelty, they provide a significant tax reduction for all citizens and will result in a decrease in the collection of 500,000 euros, setting the municipal tax burden well below the regional average.
"In addition, there are also other notable measures, such as free telecare and home help, the inclusion of participatory budgets with an important role of our young people, free transportation to the university for our students, the increase of the game conservation of schools and an urban renewal plan valued at 400,000 euros, "explains the mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, which emphasizes that the Consistory Torreño is once again the first in the Region of Murcia to approve the Municipal Budgets for the next year.
The approval of these municipal accounts for the next financial year counted on the votes against PSOE, Ciudadanos and Cambio Las Torres.
"After the recent elimination of the municipal debt these are the budgets that deserve the neighbors of Las Torres de Cotillas, municipal accounts that reward commitment, effort and support in the bad moments of recent years," says Coronado, who stresses that the current situation of Torreño City Council allows a debt capacity of 17 million euros that will result in years to come in greater investments for the town.
Different sections
Some investments in which in 2018 stand out, in addition to the footbridge on the river Segura that will unite the hamlet of La Loma with La Ribera de Molina de Segura, the construction of a canteen on the football field of the Municipal Sports Center.
"Two million euros have also been budgeted for the transfer of the RNE antenna outside the urban area, a project that we are getting closer," says Coronado.
"The conservation of public roads will receive an important boost, by the duplication of the departure and by the implementation of an APP with which the citizen can alert of any deficiency that finds before the City Council will adopt a commitment to prompt repair ", advances the councilor of Economy and Finance, Ángel González.
In addition, security will double the amounts allocated to material for the Local Police and Civil Protection, and that of the canine unit that gives such good results is increasing.
In the environmental section, the tripling triples in order to reduce CO2 emissions and one will be enabled for the creation of a municipal network of trails, with circuits from Rambla Salada to the Mula River and Segura River.
"We have also created a multisport game for the disabled and the endowment of sport and school sports programs has increased, as well as subsidies to sports associations," announced the councilor for Economy and Finance.
In education and culture the items of conservation of schools and of animation to the reading increase, and the subsidies to the Holy Week and to the groups and cultural rocks.
In addition, equality and social services raise all items, doubling the prevention of gender violence, and funds have been provided to update the Equality Plan of the municipality.
"In the chapter of expenditures highlights the agreement with the unions for the approval of a human resources plan that will allow the stability and the promotion of the staff of our City Council", informs González.
A great year ahead
2018 will be a year in which the Torreño municipality will try to opt for 5 million euros in aid from FEDER funds with its Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) 'Las Torres Conecta'.
"By adding a municipal contribution of 1,250,000 euros, we will invest in the improvement of the use and quality of technologies and information, in the consolidation of a low carbon economy, in the conservation and protection of the environment, and in the promotion of social inclusion and the fight against poverty and discrimination, "says González.
An exercise in which great projects for the municipality will see the light, among which those that will affect the local schools will be highlighted thanks to the investment of the regional government: the extension of the CEIP 'San José' (2,000,000 euros), the replacement of the cover in the CEIP 'Vista Alegre' (120,000 euros), the preparation of the playground for children (30,000 euros) and the remodeling of the electrical installation (10,000 euros) of the CEIP 'Vista Alegre', the air conditioning of the CEIP 'Maestro Joaquín Cantero '(40,000 euros), and the construction of a dining room at the CEIP' El Parque '(10,000 euros plus another 12,000 in furniture).
"It will also be a reality the roundabout at the exit of La Media Legua, where the Ministry will invest 900,000 euros and will solve the traffic problems in that area," says the mayor, who recalled that an investment of 50,000 euros will also be made to the elimination of architectural barriers.
A storm tank valued at more than 5 million euros, a wastewater collector in the area of ​​industrial estates (2 million euros), new sanitation collectors in Bolivia Street (241,000 euros), improvement in the network of sanitation in the street Mula (200,000 euros) or the improvement in the pluvial network of the avenues Juan Carlos I and Reyes Católicos or the adaptation of the urban environment of the commercial area of ​​Los Vicentes are other projects to be carried out in Las Torres of Cotillas in 2018.
