The City of Las Torres de Cotillas has convened the 'First Carnival Chirigota Competition' of the municipality, which will take place on Thursday 15 February (21 hours) at the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna'.
A contest that will have important prizes, since the two best groups will be recognized with a diploma and 1,000 euros to the first and with a diploma and 500 euros to the second.
"In this contest, groups from all over the national territory can participate and their registration period ends on January 31," says the councilman of Celebrations, Amalia Perez, who explains that the registration form is already available on the municipal website (www. .lastorresdecotillas.es / council-of-participation-citizen-immigration-and-celebrations).
Contest requirements
The repertoire of the participating groups must be unpublished in terms of the lyrics, although the music does not necessarily have to be original.
The groups that register must be composed of a minimum of 8 people, but they will not be obliged to make their program to several voices.
"Yes they must be accompanied by a minimum of guitar and, although it will not be mandatory, they can use turutas, caja, bombo and its corresponding cymbals, and any type of musical instrument or recorded music," Pérez points out, indicating that the entrance for the public It will be free until full capacity is reached.
The jury will assess the musical performance of the group, as well as the set of costumes, props, sets and originality of the group.
"The two winning groups will receive their prize during the reading gala of the Carnival proclamation, which will take place on Friday, February 16 (21 hours) also at the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna' and, in addition, they will offer a performance to the public assistant ", specifies the mayor.
