The IES 'La Florida' of Las Torres de Cotillas has counted today Wednesday December 13 with the visit of the director of the newspaper 'La Verdad', Alberto Aguirre, who has given a literary talk in the library of the center within the cycle 'Appointment with my author. '
This has revolved around the work 'Patria', by Fernando Aramburu, a novel set in a rural town of Guipúzcoa, an area of the Basque Country where the environment of LA and the left-wing nationalists impose a totalitarian regime of repression.
"After its interesting exhibition, the students have asked questions about the book, the author and the circumstances surrounding the argument," says teacher Belén Pardo, coordinator of this activity for students in 1st and 2nd year of high school.
This cycle aims to approximate students to literature through popular characters -such as the writer Carmen Posadas, the bullfighter Pepín Liria or the painter Pedro Cano-, who speak in their talk about their book and their favorite author.
"The experience of having close to interesting speakers is undoubtedly an attraction to awaken the concern for the reading of our students", explains Pardo.
