The general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara, visited on Thursday morning December 14 Las Torres de Cotillas to inspect, together with the mayor of Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, the works that are being carried out in two schools in the municipality: on the one hand, the construction of a dining room at the 'El Parque' school and, on the other, the remodeling of a playground at the 'Vista Alegre' school.
The new dining room at 'El Parque' will have an area of ​​almost 50 m2, divided into two areas: 40 m2 for the area used by the students and 10 m2 for an office for the staff.
"This service will offer a maximum capacity of 26 students per shift and their works have a budget close to 17,000 euros", explains the Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, who has also participated in the visit.
For its part, the reform of the playground of the 'Vista Alegre' has a budget of 30,175 euros and has already proceeded to the removal of sand, the filling and compacted of gravel, reinforced concrete floor and the execution of a continuous drain.
"The placement of the continuous rubber pavement and, later, of playgrounds and banks will be lacking," says Cabrera.
Solutions for the 'San José'
Before these visits, Lajara has met at the City Hall with representatives of the school 'San José', where the award of the works for the extension of the center is pending, which will entail the complete renovation of its electrical system.
"The general director is committed to the technicians of the Ministry will come to school to seek a temporary solution while they do not begin those tasks," says the mayor.
