The athlete Torreño Angel Salinas, one of the most laureate of the municipality, was received on Monday December 11 at the City Council by the mayor Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, and Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
With this official act, the last achievement achieved by Salinas was honored. On December 1, the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia (FAMU) recognized him as the best male veteran athlete of the 2016/17 season.
At the reception, which took place in the plenary hall, Zapata congratulated Salinas and thanked him "to walk with that great level the name of Las Torres de Cotillas throughout the national territory and always leave it at the top".
"This is another reason to be proud of Ángel, who is an example to follow because of his discipline, his talent and his constant spirit of improvement," Pérez emphasizes.
Broad curriculum
The achievements in the wide Salinas sports curriculum are many and in the last few days, the ones achieved in national veterans' championships stand out.
On the one hand, the past March was made in the contest of covered track disputed Madrid with a gold in the 400 meters smooth, a silver in the 200 and a bronze in the 60. And, by another, in June it added two silvers (100 and 400 meters) and a bronze (200 meters) in the open-air competition held in Elche.
