The females of the club 'Petanca La Salceda' of Las Torres de Cotillas were received by the local mayor, Isabel María Zapata, in an official ceremony recently held in the plenary hall of the local council.
"We want to pay homage to these athletes, who have been proclaimed runners-up in the First Division of the National League of clubs, a magnificent result that has earned them promotion to the Honor Division," said Zapata, who was accompanied by her councilor of Activity Physics and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
"This club is a benchmark in both regional and national petanque and year after year adds great achievements that makes us feel very proud of their players," says the mayor.
"Our most sincere congratulations to these players," says Zapata, who recalls that in the 2018 municipal budgets will recover the subsidies to local sports clubs and subsidies to outstanding athletes.
