The Early Warning Center (CAT) of Las Torres de Cotillas has improved its benefits, thanks to an investment of the local council of more than 5,000 euros.
This amount has allowed, on the one hand, to expand the treatment area for users of the center and, on the other, to increase the amount of material used in those sessions.
"The facilities have been reorganized, removing about 25 m2 to the hall that finally is the space in which the dependencies destined to treat the small ones have increased, doubling it", explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata, who visited this Friday, January 19th this center.
"The new material purchased for the center will be used for psychomotor sessions, where children from 3 to 6 years old are usually treated," says Zapata, who stresses that "now users will enjoy more space for these treatments, which may be divided in different zones according to the ages, and the professionals will be able to develop their work with greater comfort ".
From 0-6 years
This free service, which has a speech therapist, a physiotherapist and a stimulating psychologist, is provided every morning from Monday to Friday to children aged 0 to 6 years registered in the municipality.
"We have 50 direct users, although we have more than a hundred supervisors," they point out from the center, where the children arrive from health centers, schools or their parents.
"Here we carry out an assessment and decide if it is convenient to put them in treatment", the professionals point out.
