The confraternity of Santa Verónica and Santísimo Cristo de la Caída of Las Torres de Cotillas already has two new members of exception: their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, Don Felipe VI and Mrs. Letizia.
This Torrena brotherhood, founded in 1967 and wearing green and white, sent last year a petition to the Royal House to appoint both brothers honorable seniors on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
And this January 16 they had the answer with the good news.
"It is an honor for this brotherhood and we congratulate you on this prestigious incorporation," says Councilman for Culture, Pedro Cabrera.
A brotherhood that has more than two hundred brothers today and last year celebrated its half century of life with a wide program of activities.
Between the appointments they emphasized the act of opening of the celebrations - pregón included -, the edition of a book that collects these 50 years, a tribute organized by the Literary Association the Towers of Cotillas, individual trips to Malaga and Rome (where the Torreños participated in an audience with the Holy Father), an exhibition of images, robes, banners, etc., and an extraordinary procession.
