The body of Civil Protection of Las Torres de Cotillas warns that this weekend the bad weather will be installed in the municipality, to the point that it will be necessary to activate the yellow alert for storm of wind and rain (cold drop).
"It is estimated that this weekend rains leave between 40 and 50 liters per square meter, and will be especially in the night from Saturday to Sunday when we have worse weather conditions," says the person in charge of the body, Manuel Fernández.
A weekend of bad weather in which the volunteers of the Torreño body will take advantage to release their new personal protection equipment for rain, which has meant a municipal investment of close to 1,000 euros.
"We are going to establish a checkpoint in their facilities for possible interventions," Fernandez said.
recommendations
Taking into account the experiences of other years, Civil Protection makes a series of recommendations so that the effects of these adverse weather events are the minimum possible.
"It is convenient to install utensils that prevent the entry of water into doors of entrances to homes and garages, as well as leaving the covers of the drains of interior courtyards removed and as clean as possible the area to avoid more important traffic jams", explains the person in charge of the body.
In addition, it is recommended to avoid as much as possible the displacements in vehicles and, if it is irremediable to make them, it is advisable to be careful when going through flood zones, such as steps under bridges and others.
