The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas was able to enjoy on the night of Saturday, January 27, the beloved and emotional homage to the popular Torreño poet Salvador Sandoval for his 90th birthday, which took place in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' of the municipality .
Its stalls witnessed a great influx of friends and neighbors of the writer, who did not want to miss this great party organized by the literary association 'Las Torres' and also enjoyed a historic milestone: the first official interpretation of the town's anthem, that Sandoval himself has put lyrics.
The hymn Torreño - with music by José Alberto Morales - was interpreted in collaboration by the Murcian choir 'Orpheus Music' and the band from the 'Amigos de la Música' association of the Torreño municipality.
A composition that thrilled those present by his heartfelt lyrics, which begins with a stanza as significant as exciting: "Cradle of my elders, my land, huertano corner where I was born!".
