The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas Isabel María Zapata and the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Adela Martínez-Cachá met in the morning of Monday, January 29 to work on accelerating improvements in public schools Torreños.
Zapata has put on the table diverse necessities, like the renovation of the cover of the school 'Vista Alegre', a project that the regional Government has committed to realize shortly.
A center in which a few months ago was carried out the comprehensive renovation of the toilets of Children, the reinforcement of the foundation of the center and the construction of a playground in the area of ​​Children.
"The reform of the bathrooms for teachers on the ground floor is also about to begin in the center," says the councilor.
Another issue that has been put on the table is the expansion of the school 'San Jose', in which the regional government will invest about 1,300,000 euros on a site of nearly 2,000 square meters of municipal ownership.
"The center has broken up the cycles of Primary Education in different buildings and separated by several streets," says Zapata, who recalls that the geotechnical study has already begun for the construction of the new building, which will be located next to the original center.
Air conditioning and electrical improvements
"In addition, we talked about the importance of improving the electrical facilities of our centers, as well as the need for a complete air conditioning of all its classrooms", explains the councilor on this meeting, which also involved the general director of Educational Centers MaríaRemedios Lajara and the Councilor of Education Torreño Pedro Cabrera.
"Our commitment is with the well-being and quality of life of our neighbors, and in the educational area we work in collaboration with the addresses and the AMPA of the centers to achieve some marked objectives that little by little we are achieving," says Zapata.
