One more year the students of the 'Lycée Albert Camus' from the French town of Firminy are visiting Las Torres de Cotillas on the occasion of the school exchange program that develops their center with elIES 'Salvador Sandoval'.
"It is an initiative that has already completed nine editions and that during all these years has put in contact about 250 families from both locations", explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata, who has given an official reception to the French students on the morning of Today, Monday, February 5 at the local City Hall.
In total there are 25 high school students who are participating in this exchange, accompanied by a representation of the faculty of the center.
"They stay in the houses of their 'brothers' Torreño and enjoy a program of activities to know both our town and the most attractive tourist spots in the Region of Murcia," says the Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, also present in this reception in which the students have been presented with works by the author Carmen Montero Medina.
This program, framed in the European project "Comenius", has allowed an intimate relationship between both municipalities, until the point that next March will proceed to the twinning between Las Torres de Cotillas and Firminy.
