The scout group 'Ithaca' Las Torres de Cotillas held a camp in the environment of the classroom of nature and municipal shelter, in which participants carried out maintenance work environment, planting trees, cleaning and removal of weeds.
In this activity, which took place the first weekend of February, the scouts made a route with a map where they learned to use the compass, they prepared a dinner in the style 'Master Chef' and the sculpture was programmed the activities of the urban gymkhana that the Torreño City Council will soon be holding the European program 'Do-u-Sport'.
"On Saturday night we celebrated the carnival, with an evening that featured chirigotas elaborated by the boys and girls, as well as costumes", point out the people in charge of the group.
The camping concluded with the celebration of promises, where the scarf was imposed on 14 members of the group, and after the food and cleaning of the premises and surroundings the activity was concluded.
Education in values
The group 'Ithaca', formed by volunteers, belongs to the Scout Federation of Explorers of Murcia, which works education in values ​​in free time through the scout method.
This includes education for peace and development, education for health, education on equal opportunities and gender equality, integration, environmental education, responsible consumption and the appropriate use of new technologies.
