The City of Las Torres de Cotillas will provide the public schools of Infant and Primary of the municipality that request portable air conditioners for their classrooms.
It is a temporary solution while the Ministry of Education undertakes the work planned for the air conditioning of the classrooms of these Torreño teaching centers.
"We do not have the skills to make investments in schools, but we can not allow our students to continue to suffer from the temperature in their classrooms, so we have decided to take this decision that should be temporary," says Mayor Isabel María Zapata.
"It is about 3,500 BTUs and we are open to requests from schools, as we will supply as many as necessary while the final solution comes," says the councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, who says that tomorrow will be the first tests at the 'Vista Alegre' school in the municipality, which currently has 10 classrooms without air conditioning.
"The state of our schools and the welfare of our students is a priority for our government team, so we continue working in close and direct collaboration with the Ministry of Education to make the necessary improvements," says the mayor.
