The women's indoor soccer championship 'Por la Igualdad' of Las Torres de Cotillas celebrates its third edition tomorrow, Friday 2 March (20 hours), an event that will be attended by the general director of Women and Equality Alicia Barquero.
The tournament will be held in the sports hall, within the framework of the broad program of activities that the Department of Equality has prepared to commemorate the March 8, international day for women's rights and world peace.
"The entrance, of one euro, will be for the benefit of women's associations and in the organization of the tournament is also involved the '20 de Copas' peña and the Department of Sports, Civil Protection and Local Police collaborate," explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata

The commemorative program of events will continue on Saturday March 3 at the Women's Center -located in the municipal auditorium 'Juan Baño'-, with the presentation of the' For All 'women's association.
The next appointment will be on Monday, March 5 (5:30 pm), with the children's storyteller and the craft workshop that under the motto 'Values ​​and Equality' will be given by Miriam Oller at the Casa de la Cultura 'Pedro Serna'.
Oller will also be responsible for giving the talk 'The role of women in the cinema' on Wednesday 7 March (12 hours) in the same place.
That same day the women's association 'Isabel González' will celebrate its pastry tasting (16:30 hours) at the 'Garden' cafeteria in the town.
More activities
During the day that is celebrated international day for the rights of women and world peace, on March 8, the 'I Gatrosport Route' will take place.
"This proposal that will join gastronomy and hiking will begin at 9 am, will have a price of 5 euros and limited places, and participants will follow an itinerary that will take them through several catering establishments in the municipality," says the Councilor for Equality, María Dolores Sánchez .
The next day, Friday, March 9, the activity will return to the local House of Culture with the event 'Verses for equality with Carmen Montero' (20'15 hours), which will be presented by Mª Ángeles Moragues.
In addition, for Sunday, March 11, a trip to Guadalest and Calpe is planned, with a price of 24 euros and limited places, in which the women's association 'Isabel González' collaborates. To end these activities on Wednesday, the 14th and Thursday On March 15th, the free workshops of the 'Women's Journey - Enter Your Trip' project will take place on March 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
"These are sessions for entrepreneurs as well as for unemployed women between the ages of 23 and 60, in an initiative that was born to promote the empowerment of women in decision-making in their professional and personal spheres through the promotion of their projects and work and personal initiatives", highlights Zapata.
