The women's indoor soccer championship 'Por la Igualdad' of Las Torres de Cotillas held its third edition in the municipal sports hall on Friday afternoon, 2 March.
An event that was attended by the general director of Women and Equality Alicia Barquero, who served as godmother of the event.
"The members of the local clubs' Los Páharos' and '20 de Copas' offered a great show, with great sportsmanship and a demonstration of their love for this sport", explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata.
The councilor was in charge of inaugurating the tournament, in an act in which tribute was paid with a long ovation to María Ángeles, the neighbor of the municipality that was shot in an alleged assault of gender violence.
The tournament was held within the framework of the broad program of activities that the Department of Equality has prepared to commemorate March 8, international day for women's rights and world peace.
In addition, attendees could enjoy the performances of 'Kimera', dance academy 'Víctor Campos' and 'Brodguay'.
"The entrance was for the benefit of women's associations and in the organization of the tournament was also involved the '20 of Copas' peña and collaborated the Department of Sports, Civil Protection and Local Police," says the councilor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez .
