Nine medals, three gold, two silver and four bronze medals have been the balance in the regional freeskate championship of Torreño participants.
On the one hand, the biggest booty went to the Peñalver brothers, José and Blas, both Torreños and who now belong to the club of 'Patinea School' but whose beginnings were in the local club 'Roller Queen'.
In this event held on Sunday March 4 in La Manga del Mar Menor José got the gold in the categories of speed slalom and battle, while he was second in the jump and skid.
For his part, Blas hung the gold in jump and bronze in speed slalom, in battle and in skids in the category of children.
On the other hand, the skater Teresa Jimenez (club 'Roller Queen') won the bronze medal in children's category in the dribbling mode and reached the final in speed slalom getting a creditable fourth position.
Three phenomena
"We congratulate the three of them because despite their young age they are phenomena", explains the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sport Ginés Pérez, who stresses that since 2015 the Torreño municipal sports center has a multipurpose skating rink.
It is worth remembering that José Peñalver was bronze in the modality alevín of skid in the last two Championships of Spain of freestyle skating.
