The local representation signed a great performance in the test of the five-star senior national circuit that the Spanish Federation of badminton held in Las Torres de Cotillas on the 10th and 11th of March.
A tournament that took place in the municipal pavilion 'Mireia Belmonte', in an event which was collaborated by the Higher Council of Sports and the Department of Physical Activity and Sports Torrena.
In the C2 category he won the silver José Belmonte, who in mixed doubles also took the bronze playing with Inmaculada Mateo.
Another Torreño who also won two medals was Cándido Osorio, with two bronzes (both in category D, both singles and pairs with Pedro M. Caparrós).
The other two preseas - also in bronze - were taken by Manuel Berrocal and Antonio Brao in the men's doubles in category B, and Carmen María Martínez in the women's singles in B1.
This was the sixth of the seven events that the championship has and it involved about a hundred athletes from all over Spain and even from foreign countries, such as Great Britain, Germany, France, Holland, Denmark or Russia.
This badminton circuit thus returned to Las Torres de Cotillas, because "this tournament has already passed through Las Torres de Cotillas in 2015 and in 2016," explains council member Ginés Pérez.
