The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas Isabel María Zapata and the general director of Sports Alonso Gómez wanted to pay tribute to athlete Torreño Angel Salinas, who increased his extensive track record with two new medals in the XXIX Spanish Championship of indoor track veterans recently held in Salamanca.
For this, they gave an official reception at the facilities of the municipal sports center, in an act in which also participated the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports Ginés Pérez.
Salinas revalidated his title in the 400 meters by signing his best mark and was again second as last year in the 200 meters, both tests in the category of over 60 years.
"We do not get tired of seeing Angel win, which is an example for everyone and to which we congratulate him," explains Zapata, who emphasizes that "the best thing is that the one who never tires of winning is him, who he always looks for new challenges and demonstrates his great spirit of improvement. "
Broad curriculum
The achievements in Salinas' extensive sports curriculum in the veterans category are many.
For example, in the last regional indoor championship the gold medals of 60, 200 and 400 meters were hung, while in the past national outdoor championship played in June in Elche added two silvers (100 and 400 meters) and a bronze (200 meters).
