The group of amateur theater 'Tejuba' of Las Torres de Cotillas premiered on Saturday March 24.
a new work that adds to its repertoire: 'La zapatera prodigiosa', by Federico García Lorca.
It was in the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' Torreño municipality, in an evening that had free admission and an absolute full in this municipal area.
Premiered in 1930, in 'La zapatera prodigiosa' García Lorca offers a work with a classic profile inspired by the feminine spirit.
Little by little the story shows the struggle of the protagonist - married in a marriage of convenience - in which she is torn between her reality and her true desires.
The evening began with a performance by the dance academy of Víctor Campos and the reading of the World Theater Day manifesto, which was given by the youngest actors of the group 'Tejuba'.
'La zapatera prodigiosa' will be the one selected by the Torreño group in 2019 to present at all its appointments.
"It is a work that for more than 20 years has been several times in portfolio and we have not been able to represent", explains its director Joaquín Cantero, who points out that 'La Casa de Bernarda Alba' is a work of his catalog and after that montage wanted to "represent something lighter and fun of the great author from Granada".
This year the main work of 'Tejuba' is 'Bajar al moro' and its next performance will be on May 12 in El Palmar.
This group has more than half a century of history - it was born in 1966 under the direction of the longed-for Juan Baño - and behind it has a repertoire of over 40 works.
