The Holy Week of Las Torres de Cotillas enjoyed yesterday Palm Sunday, day in the municipality of the Brotherhood of San Juan Evangelista.
One morning when the people took to the streets to participate in the blessings of the palms and olive branches, and then paraded through the streets of Torrena.
This act took place first in the Hermitage of the Cross, where the image of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus in Jerusalem from the parish of Our Lady of Salceda arrived.
After the traditional act of blessing, the numerous procession - in which the mayor Isabel María Zapata participated - left in procession to the church of La Salceda, where a mass was celebrated.
Afterwards, the blessings took place at the 'Divino Maestro' school, from where the procession went to the church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Los Pulpites.
Upon arriving at this temple a mass was celebrated, which was attended by the crier of these celebrations, Domingo Coronado.
Holy Tuesday
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 27, Jesús Cautivo and Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza Macarena will return to meet with the processions of Las Torres de Cotillas.
A parade that leaves at 9.30 pm from the Church of Our Lady of Salceda and that will end at the same point with the fervent encounter of the titular images of the brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazareno as well as of La Verónica and Santísimo Christ of the Fall.
With the traditional tour of the Torrena processions as an itinerary, this Holy Tuesday parade will feature the usual protagonists: penitents, Romans, manolas, drummers ...
