The veteran athlete Torreño Angel Salinas continues adding medals.
Now he has done it in the European Championship, where he has hung his first medal beyond the regional and national treasures.
It was in the relay race of 4x200 meters, in which, along with Manuel Reyes, Jordi Blanch and Juan Carlos Rodríguez, they won the bronze medal for Spain.
"They did it fulminando the record of Spain of its category, the one of greater than 60 years, stopping the chronometer in 1: 49.66", explains the councilor of Physical Activity and Sports Ginés Pérez, who has wanted to give the congratulations to Salinas for this great gesta in his first call with the Spanish team.
In addition, the Torreño signed two other meritorious positions in this championship played in Madrid a few days ago: fifth in the 200 meters (27'78 ''), test won by the German KOENIG Rudolf and in which the Spanish Juan Carlos Rodriguez was second;
and sixth in the 400 meters (1: 02.99), in a race in which the British James Tennyson won.
Broad curriculum
The achievements in Salinas' extensive sports curriculum in the veterans category are many.
In the past national championship of covered track veterans held in Salamanca Salinas revalidated his title in the 400 meters smooth signing his best record and was again second as last year in the 200 meters.
In addition, in the last regional championship indoor track was awarded the gold medals of 60, 200 and 400 meters, while in the past national outdoor championship played in June in Elche added two silvers (100 and 400 meters) and a bronze (200 meters).
