The school 'The Park' of Las Torres de Cotillas celebrated before the holidays began a new day of exaltation huertana in which participated his educational community.
"As every year, the students of the center were able to get closer to our traditional culture and learn many things about the Region of Murcia, its folklore and the customs of its traditional garden," explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata, who attended this event.
The students were able to enjoy several workshops, including garden clothing, agricultural work and the design of clothing and Murcian vest, as well as games of scarecrows and puzzles, a gymkhana with traditional games, etc.
In addition, the local huertana rock 'L'Almazara' performed in the courtyard of the center, offering a repertoire of folk dances, and made a visit to the 'Garden of the grandfather Pepe'.
The morning concluded with a tribute to Joaquín Fernández, who was the first president of 'L'Almazara' and one of his founders.
Fernández presided over between 1982 and 1987 this peña Torreña, pioneer in the municipality in the work of promotion and dissemination of regional traditions.
