The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas is involved this week in the development of an emergency simulation of national interest organized by the regional government and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).
"This exercise has posed an earthquake of great magnitude, with its aftershocks and how it would affect several locations, including ours," said Mayor Isabel María Zapata, who visited the facilities on Wednesday, April 25, where nearly 200 people are deployed. effective in the locality, among the military, psychologists, social workers and forensic.
On the one hand, the headquarters of Civil Protection - which also collaborates in this simulation, together with the Local Police - is the point of reception of friends and family members who seek information about their loved ones.
"Here we work with staff representing the role of affected by the catastrophe, before which the intervention protocol is activated," says the councilor, who also visited the municipal sports center where the morgue has been enabled to receive the -supposed- victims mortals

More than 3,000 people
This simulation, in which several municipalities participate, has triggered the activation of level 3 of the Civil Protection Plan against Seismic Risk in the Region of Murcia (Sisimimur), which is an emergency of national interest.
For this reason, more than 3,000 people have been mobilized, including professionals from the different emergency, military and civilian services.
