The Department of Equal Opportunities Cotillas Towers again offering one year of Spanish courses for immigrants, whose objective is twofold: first, students are taught basic vocabulary (grammar and conversation) taught by a teacher specialized and Spanish culture to function in their daily lives and, secondly, they also directed job search.
These courses, semester-free and are addressed to immigrants with little or no knowledge of the Spanish language and have different centers of instruction: Monday and Thursday Women's Center (located at Constitution Park) hosts a group at night (20 to 22:30 hours), the Civic Center Barrio del Carmen is home to another group Tuesday and Wednesday from 20 to 22:30 hours, and, finally, on Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a group formed exclusively by women who are taught in the Centre for Women 10 to 12 hours.
"This is an educational program that serves its students to overcome the language barrier in his first months in Spain, thanks to the activities of culture and knowledge of Spanish grammar that are made," said the councilor Torrena Equality, Gloria Fernandez, who aims to develop both "group dynamics theory sessions and workshops in which they practice the knowledge acquired."
Talk about Aliens
In this context training tomorrow, Wednesday February 15 (20:30 pm) will be given an informative talk free on Aliens in the classroom of Spanish classes for immigrants from the Center for Women.
It shall inform the necessary steps for different procedures in our country and address the questions that students may have, creating a space for dialogue and participation.
The talk will be conducted by Jose Joaquin Martinez, a social worker from Social Services Center Towers Cotillas.
